Finding your way around

The sidebar, and how every list works: search, filters, sorting, pages, actions.

Every list in the system behaves the same way. Learn it once on the cases list and you know the benchmarks, projects, certificates and entities lists too.

The sidebar

Down the left. It is grouped by what you are doing — assessing, evidence, analytics, setup — and the number beside an entry is a live count, so you can see the size of the queue without opening it. Only the entries your role can open are shown.

Searching and filtering

  • The search box matches across the whole row — a case number, a contract title, a supplier, a code.
  • Dropdowns you can type into. Where a filter lists real records — an entity, a region, a category — start typing and the list narrows. You do not have to scroll two hundred ministries to find yours.
  • Plain dropdowns are used where the choices are a fixed short list, such as urgency or outcome.
  • Apply sets the filters. The filters currently in force are shown beneath as removable labels, so you always know why a list is short.
  • If a filter matches nothing the list says so and offers to clear it, rather than leaving you looking at an empty table wondering whether the data is missing.

Sorting and pages

Click a column heading to sort by it; click again to reverse. Long lists are paged, and the page controls sit at the foot of the table. Sorting, filters and the page you are on all live in the address, so a link you copy shows a colleague exactly what you were looking at.

Row actions

At the right of each row is a menu. It holds everything you can do with that row — open it, see its certificate, copy its reference. Only the actions your role permits appear. Clicking the row itself opens it.
